The bathroom features a generously sized walk-in shower with a full-length window that brings the beauty of the outdoors inside.

Step outside onto the front deck and immerse yourself in the tranquility of your Saddle Mountain retreat. A 5-foot wood-fired cedar hot tub awaits, inviting you to soak under the stars and enjoy stunning sunsets as they cast a golden glow.

Experience the beauty of nature as stormwater is collected and gently nourishes the nearby ecosystem, supporting indigenous flora. Our active composting efforts contribute to land restoration initiatives, creating a thriving environment for both guests and wildlife.

We responsibly harvest firewood from the property, enhancing our fire protection measures while maintaining a closed-loop approach with our septic system, ensuring harmony with the natural environment.

The Vision

Stewardship

This 9 acres was clearcut in 1994. Since then, Idyll Ridge has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving into a thriving coastal forest through dedicated stewardship. In the initial years following the clearcut, the ridge served as a motorcycle dirt track, featuring over a mile of trails etched into the terrain. Over time, as 1,300 native trees were planted and the natural regrowth of the land took hold, the forest enveloped these trails, transforming them into enchanting moss-covered pathways, perfect for calming exploration.

One of the most extraordinary transformations on the property is the former rock quarry, now known as 'The Grotto.' This tranquil sanctuary has been lovingly repurposed for meditation, music, yoga, and more, providing a serene space for rejuvenation and self-discovery.

Retreat

Tucked away in the tranquil Coastal Range, Idyll Ridge provides a calm respite from frenetic energy of urban life and the demands of your professional world. It serves as a serene oasis where you can bask in the natural world, marvel at the pristine, starry night skies, and savor the absolute seclusion. In this idyllic setting, your sole companions are the deer and myriad other inhabitants of the forest who call this land home. From the very start, the spirit of community has been at the heart of Idyll Ridge. It all began with a tree planting ceremony honoring the passing of stewardship from one generation to the next. The construction of the A-frame, a labor of love spanning 2.5 years, involved numerous work parties, where our community came together to bring this dream to life. These work parties continue, ensuring the ongoing care and preservation of the land.
